It's an absolute privilege and an honor to take some time out of our workday to pause, reflect, and celebrate the lives of Hannah Clarke and her children. Coming together for the International Women's Day Small Steps 4 Hannah lunch, particularly a day after the Queensland government passed laws to criminalize coercive control and strengthen consent, we are reminded that IWD is about more than celebrating womanhood.
It is about raising awareness, advocating, and fiercely fighting for women's rights, including the right to be safe, the right to be heard, the right to be paid equally, and the right to live free from fear and violence.
Let's continue to take small steps forward towards a more equitable and safer space for women, and let's educate and advocate for victims and survivors who too often suffer in silence.
