A Culturally Safe Workplace

Writer's picture: Teresa McCleanTeresa McClean

As part of NAIDOC Week, we are proud to highlight the importance of culturally safe spaces in the workplace.

Aunty Janette, one of SCS’s Cultural Liaison Officers, shared her experiences of being a First Nation’s woman, and recognising ‘walking in both worlds’ is a difficult one.

She stated, “I acknowledge the culturally safe space which SCS and the staff here allow me to work in and how SCS accepts my knowledge and makes me feel valued in the workplace”.

Thank you Aunty for sharing your reflections with us!
