At SCS, we believe child protection is everyone’s business. That’s why we’re proud to share that our CEO, Mel James, recently contributed a thought-provoking article to Queensland Leaders, discussing the upcoming Queensland Child Safe Standards.

Coming into effect in October 2025, these Standards will require organisations across a variety of sectors, not just child-focused industries, to demonstrate how they prioritise child safety and wellbeing. From hospitals and transport services to cultural and recreational groups, businesses will need to embed child safeguarding into their leadership, policies, and practices.

Mel’s article highlights the importance of proactive preparation and the critical role organisations play in protecting children and promoting their wellbeing.

At SCS, we’re committed to helping organisations implement and review their Child Safe commitments. Since 2009, we’ve been providing tailored solutions to support businesses in building a culture of safety and care for children.
